Entries in this category group, News Program, are either regularly scheduled series or specials that are journalism-based.

Entries in this category group, News Report/Feature, are journalism based submissions which have a duration shorter than a full program.

  • Stories about ordinary people whose acts of heroism or advocacies have touched the lives of people and set an example for others to follow.

Entries in this category group, Documentary, explore a specific topic or point of view in-depth, deal with issues of interest and importance and may be either individual programs or series.

Entries in this category group, Entertainment, are specials or series airing weekly or on some regular basis and may be distributed live or recorded. Variety programs may be entered in Music, Program or Special. On Air Station Contests, Awards, Parades, Telethons, Opening/Closing ceremonies, News or Political ceremonies may be entered in Special Event. Sports programs may be entered in Sports Program, Anthology Program or Sports Special.

Entries in this category group, Talk Program, are either specials or regularly scheduled programs and include interviews, panel discussion/debate, and host driven formats

Entries in this category group, On-Air Talent, are submissions from personalities and include Hosts, Analysts, Anchors, Reporters and Correspondents. A body of work from different programs is allowed for on-air personality categories. Please include the name of the on-air personality in the entry title.

Entries in this category group, Craft, showcase a particular technique which contributes to the sound or performance of the over-all production elements of the program. There is also a category for Interview. A body of work from different programs is allowed for craft categories. For submissions in Narration, Announcer Presentation, Performance by an Actor/Actress categories include the name of the performer in the entry title.

Entries in this category group, Programming Format, are submissions of run-of-station or an ongoing program format and must include examples of how the show opens, closes and any show characteristics other than just the music.

Entries in this category group, Morning Drive/Afternoon Programming, include drive time daypart either morning or afternoon and must include examples of how the show opens, closes and any show chracteristics.

Entries in this category group, Promotion/Open & ID, are for submissions which promote the image/brand of a station, network, website, program, or on-air talent. These categories include generic, episodic, and special tune-in announcements; program opens and IDs.

Entries in the category group, Digital, inclue all forms of news including current affairs, entertainment, drama, sports, religious, and music programming. Entries may be short form or long form, recorded or live. 

Entries in this category group, Audio Book, are submissions which are recordings of a text being read in the format of digital files. Entries may be unabridged or telescoped and must be MP3 files. There is a maximum time limit of two hours. 

Entries in this category group, Podcast, are submissions which are direct to digital. Submissions may include a valid url/link.

Entries in this category group, Student, are created by students. Entries may be short form or long form.
